Prof Alabi assumed the position of Provost, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin on August 1^st,2022. A graduate of medicine and Surgery from the University of Ilorin with fellowships in Otolaryngology from the Postgraduate medical colleges of Nigeria and West Africa. He was a past Head of department and Director of research development and training (CREDIT) at the University(2016-2019). A former Director of research and training at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (2011-2015). He has research collaborations with the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research Lagos (Adjunct Professor), St Georges Hospital, University of London, UK, Royal Marsden Hospital, London, and MD Anderson Cancer Centre, University of Texas, Houston, USA (Head and Neck Surgery). Won several research grants ( NIH-Scart Study PI for Nigeria; NIH-HPV/Head &Neck Study and Tetfund  Nigeria grants; reviewer for ACU grants, UK.Won a patent Omokanye-Adebola-Alabi temporal bone holder. Certified program and institutional accreditor for the National Universities Commission. Nigeria and mentored several Universities in Nigeria on grantsmanships for academics. Chairman Association of Provosts of colleges of medicine in Nigeria (2024-2026).
